The project scope also includes sidewalks, a multimodal trail, drainage, water, wastewater, illumination layout, signage, markings, hardscape, landscape and irrigation improvements.

GENERAL PROJECT INFORMATION

Start Date: February 26, 2026 Projected End Date: August, 2027

The information below is just a quick synopsis of the changes that will be made. To see a more detailed map, click on the header for each section.

From George Bush to River Oaks: There will be two lanes northbound and two lanes southbound, culminating in a roundabout at River Oaks. The roundabout will be larger than the one currently located at Campbell and Brand. Its design is the result of Garland’s research and testing with dual goals of beautifying the roadway and slowing traffic down.

Canterbury Drive, Entrance to Fairways at Firewheel: Southbound Brand will have a separate left turn lane into Canterbury. For turning south onto Brand from Canterbury, there will be a dedicated left turn access lane from Canterbury onto southbound Brand. This will give drivers more room to merge with existing traffic. On the Northbound side, there is also a dedicated right turn access lane to enable drivers to slow down while turning into Fairways at Firewheel.

From Canterbury Drive to Muirfield: At the northeast end of construction, there will be another roundabout, leading to a two lane Brand Road continuing on to Campbell Road.
